Softball team should be strong next season

American River finished fifth in the Big 8 Conference with a record of 7-14 and 15-21 overall.

With this team being so young, next season will have eight returning players ready to go.  Sophomore Kari Riolo led the league with 32 hits, was second with 13 doubles, and third with 16 runs batted, in according to the Beaver Tales.  

Sophomore pitcher Katrina Newman finished second in the Big 8 with 157 total strikeouts.
