The solution to student election apathy

Another student government election is behind us.  A fine group of individuals will take office July 1 and will more than likely continue the fine work by the ARC Students for Change ticket that held office for one full year.  Their textbook rental program, digital signage, election reform, and shared governance work has added greatly to the ARC community.  It’s a shame that only 563 students voted in the election.

No rush for the future; it'll always be there

My time is done.  After two semesters as editor in chief of the Current, I’m moving on to bigger and better things.  It’s been fun…yada, yada, yada.

Being nearly twice the age as most of the friends I’ve made over the past three semesters has allowed me ample opportunity to observe youth in action and the trials and tribulations which people experience as they maneuver through early adulthood.

Tolerance is OK

My name is Taylor; I am one of your fellow ARC Christian students. I just came across your article called “A Christian wonders, ‘Where’s the love?’” (March 3 issue by Kelsey Wehsels).

Take a trip, man

There’s no denying that my heart belongs to California. (Particularly Northern California.) I’ve lived here all my life, and consider myself a certified Californian.

Yet even though I love this state, in spite of all its problems, I know I won’t live here forever.

George Lopez

George Lopez gave me a bad case of pink eye

Just to clarify the headline, there is a pretty good chance that George Lopez didn’t give me pink eye, but I’m going to blame him anyway. I had the great pleasure of running into Mr. Lopez in an Italian restaurant down in Southern California recently, at which time I had the honor to shake his hand and exchange pleasantries.

The ARC Current undergoes a huge change

Karen Thomas pays tribute to the ARC Current's own Rich Mellott, and his work on our campus

The staff of the Current has had to face a dismaying loss; Adviser Rich Mellott, mentor, teacher, and journalistic inspiration, will not be returning as faculty advisor to this newspaper in the fall.  Lisa Lawrenson, Dean of Humanities, could not confirm who the new adviser will be.
