About 1,000 education supporters converged outside the Capitol building in Sacramento around 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, protesting drastic cuts to school budgets throughout the state.
The rally was one of dozens of similar protests held throughout California.
Students and teachers voiced their anger with chants and signs. Local law enforcement made their presence known, but there were no incidents reported.
At UC Davis, police clashed with protesters, one female student was arrested, but there were no reported injuries.
When one student at the Capitol rally was asked what he would tell the governor if given the chance, he said, “You screwed up my state.”
